National Library Week is this week April 9-15. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is observed each April by the American Library Association and libraries across the country. So check your local library for special events this week.
Libraries are so much more than a place to find a book. Many offer videos, games, internet services, classes, some even offer bi-lingual classes, book clubs, reading groups for many ages, and periodicals for enjoyment or research.
I used to nearly live in the library as a child and young adult. It was always exciting, the soft hush of the place, the only sounds whispers, the rustle of pages and maybe the squeaky wheel of the library cart as it passed by. It was almost magical. I always felt as if I won a prize when I would find the book I needed or wanted. It was mine for 2 weeks!
I've recently rejoined the County library, because it is also a great place for research and perhaps meeting up with new people who are enthusiastic about books too.
So find your nearest library and support it by using it. Then just Read!
There is an affiliate link here to help support our national library systems which certain individuals in Washington, think we shouldn't financially support. Boo Hiss!
